The latest coverage has appeared in All About Shipping as well as the Nautilus International Telegraph and Ship Management International.

Members of the Group recommended that a letter be sent to Government Ministers about security around our coast following our presentation with our joint venture partners State 21.

Maritime Security

We will be returning with State 21 to the Group’s next meeting in January to help the reply from the Government and see what steps are going to be taken.

Please contact for all of your security needs – whether that is ashore, on board ship or in port.

Our presentation to the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Maritime and Ports was a tremendous success yesterday.

We raised the very pressing question ‘How secure is our coastline?’ to Lords and MPs at the Houses of Parliament. Nearly 50 attendees from a variety of organisations and businesses packed the committee room for the hearing.

Our presentation by TMG managing director Malcolm Parrott and Tony Birr, business director of our joint venture partners State 21, triggered a very interesting debate.

Admiral Lord West, a former First Sea Lord, was among those who spoke of the need for a centralised capability of command and control on the basis of centralised intelligence.

Others in attendance included Lord Wrigglesworth, Jim Fitzpatrick MP, James Gray MP and the Earl of Cork and Orrery.

The TMG delegation  included Joint Venture Partner and MD of State 21 Richard Rowland and Joanna Parrott from TMG.

Kevin Hawes is Business Development Manager and Senior Consultant at TMG

A warm welcome to highly experienced commercial manager Kevin Hawes who has joined The Maritime Group (TMG) International Ltd.

Kevin is targeting new growth after starting as Business Development Manager and Senior Consultant.

Based at our London office at Victoria Embankment, he brings a wealth of commercial experience gained since leaving the British Royal Navy as a Lieutenant Commander in 1993.

His appointment comes as we continue to grow with recent successes including our ISO 9001 quality accreditation.

Kevin said: “In an increasingly competitive and uncertain maritime world, gaining the right support has never been more important.

“I’m looking forward to making TMG’s world class services available to more clients and helping existing clients continue to successfully grow their own businesses.

“It’s an exciting time to join TMG as the company moves confidently into the next phase of its growth.”

Kevin’s extensive maritime experience was developed from 17 years in the Royal Naval Submarine Service to, more recently, sales of marine terminal and supply chain optimization solutions to principally the oil and gas majors worldwide.

He has held key positions at Quintiq (Dassault Systemes Group), Cirrus Logistics Ltd (CentriQ Group) and Emerson Process Management (CSi).

In 2015 he founded Portunus-Solutions Ltd, a solution brokerage and referral partner to selected supply chain and advanced maintenance solution vendors.

Working to TMG’s accredited ISO 9001 standard, Kevin is responsible for TMG’s business development activities, including the acquisition of new business and additional partners. His role also includes maintaining fruitful relationships with the wider TMG sales teams, existing customers and partner organizations.

Malcolm Parrott, TMG Managing Director, said: “Kevin is an internationally experienced, entrepreneurial sales professional with a highly successful background.

“He will lead our expansion into new markets whilst continuing to grow relationships with existing clients and ensuring that our high standards of honesty and ethical practice are maintained throughout the sales cycle.

“We are very pleased to welcome Kevin aboard.”
